From humble beginnings in 1993, the Primrose Cafe has evolved to become one of Bristol’s busiest and best-loved cafes and also one of the city’s most highly regarded restaurants.

Tucked away at the end of a small but bustling cul de sac in Clifton Village, we serve a large and loyal clientele everything from morning coffee to a three-course dinner.

We make almost everything on the premises and take the trouble to source locally, sustainably and ethically.

After nearly 20 years under the same ownership, we feel we have evolved with our surroundings and serve people what they want at a reasonable price.

In a perfectly positioned sun trap, the Primrose is the ideal place to watch the world go by while tucking into an all-day breakfast, sampling a lunchtime speciality or savouring a slice of our famous homemade cakes. We’re open 7 days a week, serving breakfasts all day, morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, with a special brunch menu on Sundays.

Sit outside in the sun, inside amid the bustle, upstairs in the quiet or just relax on our private terrace – there’s somewhere for everyone.
